PREFACE
Research shows no sport is exempt from incidence of maltreatment, harassment, neglect, etc, and no country is exempt. Everyone involved with the FIL has a role to play in making sure they actively safeguard participants from all forms of maltreatment at all levels. The FIL believes that all athletes, staff, officials, and volunteers have the right to participate and develop in our sport, in a safe and inclusive environment, free from all forms of discrimination, abuse, violence, neglect and exploitation.
The FIL is committed to creating and implementing policies and processes to ensure that everyone within the broader remit of the FIL organisation is aware of their legal and ethical rights and responsibilities, expected standards of behaviour, prohibited behaviours, reporting pathways, enforcement, sanctioning, and support for all safe sport concerns.
FIL SAFE SPORT CODE OF CONDUCT
The FIL Safe Sport Code of Conduct Policy is a human rights approach to promote best practice. It is designed to allow all participants to make informed and confident responses to specific safeguarding and athlete/child protection issues, including recognizing issues, what to do, and where to report for any violations or concerns related to this policy.
** Coming soon ** The FIL Safe Sport Code of Conduct is currently in the process of final review and approval. The FIL Sport Integrity Unit will communicate to all participants and member nations once the policy is implemented and posted.
