Winners of the Latvian Cup: Kendija Aparjode, Kristers Aparjods, Bots/Plume and Upite/Kaluma

Lettischer Cup 2023

Sigulda (FIL/29 Dec 2024) On Friday, December 29, the Latvian Luge Cup took place at the Bobsleigh and Luge Track in Sigulda (LAT) from 9.00 a.m. to 1.45 p.m. a total of 81 athletes in age groups from Youth C to Adults participated.

On Thursday, December 28, the official training runs took place from 15:00 to 19:00. All members of the Latvian national luge team competed at the Latvian Cup 2023.

Kristers Aparjods won the men's competition with the best times in both runs. Aparjods was 0.362 seconds ahead. Junior Kaspars Rinks and the bronze medal went to Gint Berziņs.

Kaspars Rinks won the junior category ahead of Roberts Dreimanis.

Bots/Plume, Sigulda 2023

In the women's singles race, Kendija Aparjode won the Latvian Cup 2023 with the best time in the first run and the second best time in the second run. Silver went to Elina Ieva Vitola, who was only 0.008 seconds behind the winner. Sigita Berzina took bronze with the third best time in both runs.

Zane Kaluma won the women's junior race. Katrina Duganova was second and bronze went to Zanda Ulbika.

Martins Bots/Roberts Plume won the men's doubles. The silver medal went to Eduard Sevics-Mikeļsevics/Lukas Krasta, 0.562 seconds behind. Third place went to the junior team of Raimonds Baltgalvis/Vitalijs Jegorovs, who were also the only team to win a gold medal in the junior competition.

Anda Upite/Zane Kaluma, a new team, won the women's doubles. Viktorija Ziediņa/Selina Elizabete Zvilna were second and Marta Robezniece/Kitija Bogdanova third.
