Record-breaking World Champion Felix Loch heads the BSD team
Berchtesgaden (RWH) The record-breaking World Champion Felix Loch is leading the German Bobsleigh, Luge and Skeleton Federation’s (BSD) team for the 2019/2020 Viessmann World Cup season. The runner-up from the World Championships, Julia Taubitz, is heading the women’s team. For the doubles event, the German coach Norbert Loch is counting on World Champions Toni Eggert/Sascha Benecken, European Champions Tobias Wendl/Tobias Arlt and Robin Geueke/David Gamm.
Two-time Olympic Champion Loch – who like Italy’s Armin Zöggeler has won a total of six World Championship titles in the men’s singles event – is joined on the World Cup team by Olympic bronze medallist Johannes Ludwig, two-time Junior World Champion Max Langenhan, Sebastian Bley and Moritz Bollmann, the overall winner of the 2018/2019 Junior World Cup.
Since both Natalie Geisenberger and Dajana Eitberger are on maternity leave and Tatjana Hüfner has retired from the sport, Taubitz and the three-time Junior World Champion Jessica Tiebel will be joined by the two up-and-coming stars Cheyenne Rosenthal (2019 Junior World Champion) and Anna Berreiter to fly the flag for Germany.
