R.O.M. – Meeting of Event Organizers from Three Continents

Bonn (FIL/10 Jul 2024) On July 9, 2024, the organizers of FIL and IBSF championships and international races met for the joint "Race Organizers Meeting" (R.O.M.) at the Post Tower in Bonn, Germany.

At the invitation of their joint logistics partner DHL, the organizers of international sliding competitions from three continents met with the officials of the two international federations, FIL and IBSF. Topics on the agenda included the international competition calendars for the coming years, the organization of World Cups and championships, sustainability, communication, sponsorship, marketing, media analysis, and event promotion.

The DHL leadership, represented by Arjan Sissing (Senior Vice President DHL Group Brand Marketing), Frederik Reifegerste (Managing Director DHL Global Event Logistics), Patrick Dexheimer (Sector Head Fairs & Events DHL Global Event Logistics), and Martina Zerle (Head of Business Development & Sales at DHL Global Event Logistics), welcomed the delegations from FIL and IBSF.

The organizers were confident that through intensive collaboration and the exchange of best practices, the upcoming competitions can be made even more successful and sustainable. The discussions on sponsorship and marketing strategies are intended to help further promote the sports and make them accessible to a broader audience.
