Latvia crowns its Luge Champions - successful end to the season.

Kendija Aparjode, Lettische Meisterin 2024

Sigulda (FIL/11. Mrz.2024) On Friday, March 8, the Latvian Championships took place at the Sigulda bobsleigh and luge track, marking the end of the 2023/2024 luge season for the national team.

A total of 78 athletes in age groups from adults to youth C took part in the competitions. The competitions were highly exciting, and the athletes put in impressive performances.

In the men's singles category, Kristers Aparjods secured the Latvian Championship title, followed by Gints Berziņs and junior Kaspars Rinks. Kaspars Rinks won the junior men's category, followed by Robert Dreyman.

Kendija Aparjode won the women's event, followed by Elina Ieva Vitola and Sigita Berziņa. The gold medal in the junior women's singles went to Zane Kaluma, followed by Margita Sirsniņa and Zanda Ulbika.

Bots / Plume, Latvian Champions 2024

In the men's doubles, Martiņs Bots and Roberts Plume secured the Latvian Championship title. The silver medal went to Eduards Sevics- Mikelsevics and Lucas Krasts, while juniors Raimonds Baltgalvis and Vitaliy Yegorov won bronze.

Anda Upite and Zane Kaluma won gold in the women's double sculls, followed by Viktorija Ziedņa and Selina Elizabeta Zvilna with silver.

The winners in the youth categories were Robert Hazeldan and Amanda Ogorodnikova in the youth A, Janis Gruzdulis Borovoys and Eden Eduards Cepulis in the boys A doubles, and Elina Pamzhina and Madara Pavlova in the female youth A doubles.

Other winners were Adrian Sics in the boys B and Lina Kraslavska in the girls youth B. Adams Sics and Lina Kraslavska secured the victories in the male and female youth C categories.

The whole event was a great success and underlines the passion and talent of Latvian female and male luge athletes of all ages.
