Vancouver (pps) World Champion Tatjana Hüfner heads the pool of luge athletes that will have the honor of homologating the future Olympic track in Whistler. Besides the two-time World Champion and 2007/2008 Overall World Cup winner, 15 other athletes from five nations were invited to participate in the homologation of the artificial track for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.

In men’s singles, David Möller (GER), the silver medalist at the 2008 World Championships, five-time World Champion Armin Zöggeler (ITA), Tony Benshoof from the USA and Canada’s Jeff Christie, Sam Edney and Ian Cockerline will slide. The women’s singles pool includes Tatjana Hüfner, who has won seven races this season, Regan Lauscher, Meaghan Simister (both Canada) as well as Erin Hamlin from the USA. In doubles, the Canadians Chris Moffat/Mike Moffat, Austria’s Tobias Schiegl/Markus Schiegl as well as the US doubles team Christian Niccum/Daniel Joye will race at Whistler Sliding Center.
