First national title for local Heroes Geueke/Gamm

Winterberg (RWH) Natalie Geisenberger and Felix Loch have secured the full half dozen, Robin Geueke/David Gamm celebrated their first title: These are the headlines of the German National Luge Championships in Winterberg.
Just two months before the 48th World Championships of the International Luge Federation (FIL), scheduled for January 25 to 27 on the track in Winterberg, Geueke-Gamm won with an advantage of 0.038 seconds ahead of Olympic Champions Tobias Wendl-Tobias Arlt. Due to injury, reigning World Champions Toni Eggert-Sascha Benecken have not been able to race. But the bronze medallists of the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang nevertheless are nominated for the season’s opener of the Viessmann Luge World Cup November 24 and 25 in Innsbruck-Igls, Austria.
Olympic Champion Natalie Geisenberger sent record-breaking World Champion Tatjana Hüfner to second place. Third place went to Olympic silver medallist Dajana Eitberger. In the men’s race Felix Loch won ahead of Chris Eißler and Sebastian Bley.
