FIL Statement on Plan B Regarding the Venue for the Olympic Luge Competitions at Milan-Cortina 2026

Altenberg (FIL/08 Jan 2025) In light of recent press reports regarding the so-called Plan B for the luge competitions at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan-Cortina, the FIL (Fédération Internationale de Luge) has deemed all possible alternatives as acceptable.

The Organizing Committee MiCo (Milan-Cortina 2026) and the IOC (International Olympic Committee) have been fully informed of all FIL requirements for hosting the Olympic luge competitions.

At the same time, the FIL remains fully focused on preparing for the Olympic track being reconstructed in Cortina d’Ampezzo as Plan A. Our top priority continues to be providing athletes with a safe, fair and exceptional stage to compete for Olympic medals in 2026.
