
Elina Ieva Vitola, Aparjods, Bots/Plume and Robezniece/Bogdanova win Latvian Cup at the end of the year in Sigulda
Sigulda (FIL/12/31/2022) On Friday, December 30, the Latvian Luge Cup was held at the bobsleigh and luge track in Sigulda to close the year 2022. 77 athletes competed in five age groups. The Latvian national team participated in the national championships.
The winner of the Latvian Cup in the men's category was Kristers Aparjods, who put both runs into the ice channel with the fastest time, winning with a final time of 1:36.980 minutes. Second place went to junior Kaspars Rinks, who was + 1.412 seconds slower in the overall time. The bronze medal went to junior Robert Dreimanis (+4.046).

In women's race Elina Ieva Vitola won with the third best time in the first heat and the fastest time in run two and total time 1:24,393 minutes. Sigita Berziņa finished second, only 0.004 seconds behind her teammate. The bronze medal went to Kendija Aparjode (+0.229 sec.).
In men's doubles, the gold medal went to Martins Bots/Roberts Plume with a total time of 1:23.778 minutes. The runners-up were Eduards Sevics Mikeļsevics and Lukas Krasts (+0.736 sec.).
In the women's doubles competition, junior Marta Robezniece/Kitija Bogdanova won (1:26,575). Second place went to Anda Upite/Sanija Ozoliņa, 0.028 seconds behind the winners. The bronze medal went to Viktorija Ziediņa/Selina Elizabeta Zvilna (+4.990).
