Austria`s Medal hope Selina Egle to miss Youth Olympic Games

St. Moritz (RWH) Due to an injury Austria’s Selina Egle is not able to compete at the 2020 Youth Olympic Winter Games. In women’s doubles Selina Egle and her team-mate Lara Kipp have been medal contenders. During a training session 16-year-old Egle suffered a fracture of the metatarsus. “At the high-speed part of the track, Selina touched the bonds. Nothing serious, but unfortunately she gets hurt”, the Olympic Committee of Austria (ÖOC) quoted her coach Markus Kleinheinz in a press release
The drop out of Selina Egle, foreseen to compete in three disciplines (women, women’s double and team relay) influences not only her team-mate Lara Kipp. Austria’s Team Relay is as well involved, because now they have no qualified double. But in the rules of YOG cross-nations teams are explicitly allowed.
