World champions Florschuetz-Wustlich forced to take a break
München (pps) Germany’s three-time World champions André Florschuetz-Torsten Wustlich will not compete at the season’s opener of the Viessmann Luge World Cup in Innsbruck-Igls. André Florschuetz had to undergo surgery on November 21, because of a slipped disc. Provided that the recovery will be smooth, the 2001, 2005 and 2008 title holders hope to celebrate their comeback at the Viessmann Luge World Cup event in Koenigssee at the beginning of January.

Missing from the ranks of 2008 World medal winners is – apart from Florschuetz-Wustlich - only Silke Kraushaar-Pielach, the World bronze medallist. The 1998 Olympic and 2004 World champion had ended her active career last winter and is now acting as sport manager within Germany’s Bobsleigh and Luge Federation, BSD.
