Moscow (RWH) Albert Demchenko, who competed in a record seven Olympics in the luge, has been promoted to head coach of the Russian team. In the winter of 2014/2015, the winner of three silver medals at the Olympic Winter Games played an important role in the success of Semen Pavlichenko, who won both the World and European Championships. During his active career, Demchenko also took World Championship silver in the men’s singles and the team event (2012), and was overall Viessmann World Cup winner in 2004/2005.
