Luge family mourns former World Champion Michael Walter

 Annaberg-Buchholz  (RWH) The international world of luge mourns former World Champion Michael Walter from Germany. The two-time Olympian died in Annaberg-Buchholz, aged 57.

 Michael Walter won the Gold Medal at the 1985 World Championships of the International Luge Federation (FIL) in Oberhof. He finished fourth at the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo. Four years later he came in fifth at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary.
